“It’s an eye,” he said, looking up.
I snickered. “What? No way.”
Somber and serious, he nodded. “Yep. It’s watching us. Always has been.”
“Whose eye is it then?” Wait. Was I actually considering his preposterous claim?
“Theirs. They’re watching us.”
“Why would they be watching us?” I kicked myself for asking. Stop it! There is no eye and there is no they.
“To know the best time to invade.”
“That’s ridiculous. Prove it.”
He stared at me, as if I was the one being absurd. “There is no proof of anything. But it could very well be an eye.”

This reminds me of home. A certain hubsand glues himself to the TV documentaries about “ancient alien” (insert eye-roll here). At any rate, the conversation draws us in and sets the stage. Well done.

By the end of this, I was picturing Statler and Waldorf (grumpy old Muppets). Even heard their voices. This was funny and, as usual, well written. BTW: I vote on the Eye. They are always watching.

The Eye in the Sky has survived many centuries, many cultures. Not always called that, not always looking the same. People seem to like the idea, though 🙂

It is only their mother, watching over them and ready to call them out if they do something wrong. Or maybe it really is the aliens. Nice work.

If an attack happens, why only this building? Attack will happen all over, which can be watched from sky. When we start thinking of dooms day scenario, we forget all logic. Nicely told story of a suspecting mind.

They’ll not accept the truth till it is too late, and the alien ship targets its beams on the White House, Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, Pyramids, Taj Mahal etc 🙂
