My comments for Oscar picks do not come from actually seeing the movie. Rather my picks are based what I think I know of the movie/characters.
    BEST PICTURE: Lincoln or Argo
    BEST ACTOR: Daniel Day-Lewis, “Lincoln”
BEST ACTRESS: Quvenzhane Wallis, “Beasts of the Southern Wild”
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: Sally Field, “Lincoln”
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: Alan Arkin, “Argo”

Anyone else a Dowton Abbey fan?

We love Jennifer Lawrence. We wanted her to win for Winter’s Bone, and we loved her in The Hunger Games, so I would love to see her win.
Daniel Day–Lewis, Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, were outstanding in Lincoln. I think screen adaptation of Life of Pi, was better than Lincoln, and probably better than Les Mis, although I haven’t seen that one yet. I expect Silver’s Lining Playbook or Beasts of the Southern Wild will win, simply because the Academy never does what is expected. Lincoln would be my choice although Life of Pi

    • Jan Morrill says:

I thought Life of Pi did very well transferring the book to the screen — it must have been a challenge. I thought Jennifer Lawrence’s role in Silver Lining was her best yet. Loved her role in that. And of course, you know how I feel about Quevenzhane Wallis — what an enchanting, haunting job she did in Beasts of the Southern Wild. Thanks for sharing, Bonnie!
