Monday Morning Mashup: 07/09/12

MASH-UP
A creative combination
or mixing of content
from different sources.

For this morning’s mashup, I thought I’d do something a little different and post the newsletter for the upcoming August 18 meeting for Ozarks Writers League. We have two great speakers–Linda Apple and Kristen Lamb. If you’re an OWL member, I hope to see you there. If you’re not yet a member and would like to attend, please visit the OWL website for more information or contact me at jymorrill@gmail.com and I’ll be happy to answer any questions. We’d love to have you attend our August meeting!

NEWSLETTER:

Hello, OWL members!

What’s the good news about these hot, dry summer days? It means our August meeting is fast approaching! We have two exciting and informative speakers in August, so I hope you’ll make plans to attend on Satuday, August 18. I’ve listed some information below:

FRIDAY NIGHT DINNER

Hope you’ll join us for the fun Friday night get together at Boxcar Willie’s on August 17. Dinner starts at 5:30, with open mic right after.  Contact me to make your dinner reservation at jymorrill@gmail.com. Meals are $9.00 payable at the door, but you must make your reservation by Tuesday, August 14, so the caterer will know how many to prepare for. Tickets will not be available for dinner for anyone who does not make a reservation by that date.

Also, be sure to let me know if you want to participate in Open Mic.  As with our last open mic, we are limiting the readings to the first twelve requests to read and readings will be strictly limited to 5 minutes. If you wish to read, please email a 50-word bio to jymorrill@gmail.com.

Also taking place the same weekend will be the Ozarks Heritage Writer’s Conference in Hollister, MO.  Many attendees of that conference will be visiting our OWL meeting on Saturday, August 18, so let’s watch for new faces and welcome them to our great community of writers!

Here’s the link if you’d like more information on the Ozarks Heritage Writer’s Conference: http://www.ozarksheritagefoundation.org/programs/category/WritersSeminar.html
