A new haiku “appeared” on my haiku blog today. 🙂

Life: Haiku by Haiku

I’ve found a new blog by Jenn, where every Wednesday we are invited to share our haiku based on a one-word prompt. It’s called Sensational Haiku Wednesday. Thought I’d give it a try!

This week’s prompt was: Postcard

His postcard arrived
telling me of adventures
I once dreamed about.

Nice haiku. We don’t see many postcards since moving into the electronic age. Too bad. I always enjoyed the beautiful photos and the caption on the back.

I was thinking the same thing as I wrote this haiku, Russell. Every time we go somewhere, I buy postcards with the best of intentions, because I think it’s a lost “art,” too. But, I usually fail to get any sent. It’s so easy to send a text with a photo, but there’s something lost in that. Same with emails vs. handwritten letters.

The e-card just doesn’t feel the same. I love postcards.
